Mark Truesdell

Mark Truesdell has been active in Milwaukee music since the late 1980's as a singer-songwriter and with stints in diverse groups including F.S. Camels, Dellmann Trio, Truesdell and Rautmann, 40oz Kings, Lost Pioneers and John The Conqueroo.

Guitar/slide, bass, piano, vocals and harmonica are his main instruments along with the recently added Rotella Cosmica (pictured at right) and Melodica used in ONE.

After an initial burst of creative song-writing in his early 20's and early 30's, Mark's muse wandered off... only recently returning under the assumed name "Umberto Vata" - composer of ambient experimental space music.

In addition to ONE, Mark currently collaborates with his wife Candice Nokes in The Spirals and also with Candice and cellist Twila Bergeron in The Cosmic Spirals. He also enjoys sitting in on organ with Mike Starling and Bean Hoy, bass with Dumb Terminal Project and on blues harp with the Al Pike Blues Band whenever he can.

Mark's evolving favorite influences are The Doors, Billy Bragg, JJ Cale, Johnny Cash, John Prine, The Bob's (Dylan & Marley), Yoko Ono and Sun Ra.
